Six things that stand out
Trained horologist on every job
No work is passed to unqualified hands. Kritsana, with 18 years of watchmaking experience, oversees every service and restoration personally.
Written summary with every return
A clear, jargon-free document accompanies each finished piece. Not a vague stamp — a useful record of what was done and what was observed.
Scope agreed before work starts
We assess the watch, describe what we find, and propose a clear plan with pricing. Work only begins once you have confirmed you are comfortable with it.
Photographs for restoration projects
Vintage and inherited watches are documented throughout. You receive the photographs alongside the written record — a permanent account of the work and the watch's condition.
Correct lubricants and components
We use the lubricant grades and part sources appropriate to each movement. Using the wrong oil or an imprecise replacement is one of the most common causes of a watch failing again quickly.
Straightforward communication
No pressure to extend the scope, no vague timelines, no hidden additions. We say what we'll do, we do it, and we tell you when it's ready.
In Depth
A closer look at each benefit
Professional expertise
Watchmaking is a craft that takes years to develop. The fine tolerances involved in mechanical movements — parts measured in hundredths of a millimetre, springs requiring precise tension — mean that inexperienced handling often makes things worse. Coglight was founded by a trained horologist who has worked across workshops in different parts of Thailand and brings that depth of practical knowledge to every piece that comes through the door.
- 18+ years of hands-on watchmaking and servicing experience
- Mechanical and quartz calibres across a wide range of origins and ages
- Specialist knowledge of vintage movement types and period-appropriate parts
Tools and equipment
Good outcomes in watch servicing depend partly on skill and partly on the quality of the tools used. We maintain an ultrasonic cleaning unit, a timing machine for measuring rate accuracy, and a range of movement holders and case opening tools sized for the work at hand. We don't improvise where precision is required.
- Ultrasonic cleaning of movement parts
- Timing machine verification before return
- Magnification and precision tools throughout
How we look after clients
Most watch owners are not enthusiasts with technical knowledge — they are people who care about a particular piece and want it properly looked after. We explain what we find in plain language, give honest timelines, and contact you promptly if anything changes. Our client liaison Nattika handles all communication and makes sure nothing is left unclear.
- Assessment shared before any work begins
- Prompt contact if scope or timeline changes
- Plain-language explanations, no technical pressure
Transparent pricing
Our service tiers are clearly priced from the start. The assessment is shared with you before work begins, and the final charge will not exceed what was agreed. We don't add items to invoices after the fact. For restoration projects, the assessment may revise the estimate if parts sourcing turns out to be more complex — but that is discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.
- Fixed pricing for everyday service — no surprises
- Quoted in Thai Baht with no hidden additions
- Price confirmed before work starts on every job
Outcomes we aim for
A watch that comes to us for an everyday service should leave running reliably and sealed appropriately for its environment. A piece sent for refinishing should look improved — not overwrought. A restored watch should be in good mechanical order and accompanied by a full record, so the owner understands exactly what was done and why. These are modest ambitions, but they are the right ones.
- Reliable timekeeping verified before return
- Cosmetic work measured against the piece, not a generic standard
- Full documentation for restoration projects

What Sets Us Apart
Things you won't find everywhere
A full watch history document
For restoration work, we produce a record that captures the watch's condition on arrival, the work carried out, and photographs at key stages. This document travels with the watch and adds genuine value — particularly for inherited pieces or those intended to be passed on.
No obligation assessment
Bring your watch in and we will examine it, tell you what we observe, and suggest a course of action. You are under no pressure to proceed. Some watches need less than the owner expects; we say so.
Sympathetic restoration approach
We don't apply a standard finish to every restored watch. Original plating, period-appropriate dial condition, and natural case wear are discussed with the owner before any cosmetic work begins. The goal is a watch that looks like itself, not like it just left a factory.
Guidance for out-of-town owners
We work with clients throughout Thailand who send pieces by post. We guide you through safe packaging and confirm safe receipt before any work begins. Distance doesn't have to be a barrier to good care.
